And by hacked we mean, no just accessing the data but also rendering the application unusable ( you need a disaster recovery system in place).
With cyber-attacks being a common daily occurrence the quality of your security is now super critical. Like most things in this world, quality security means different things to different people.
A good place to start is to ask yourself the following questions with a score of 1-5 where 1 is no impact and 5 is very high impact:-
- What would be the cost and impact if yours and your client’s data ended up in the public domain?
- What would be the cost and impact if yours and your client’s data were suddenly inaccessible? How long could your continue in business without access?
- Is your software and infrastructure enabled to comply with the new General Data Protection Regulation now in place and enforceable by law in April 2018?
